About Director

Founder

Ayinde Fondren, a native of Detroit, MI, profound percussionist and activist for local performing arts with over a decade of educational and mentorship experience. 

 

Currently, he is Founder and Creative Director for Solid Foundation Cultral Arts Organization.

"COMMITTED TO PRESERVING AFRICAN CULTURE & TRADITIONS"...
​Solid Foundation, established in 2000 began with the vision to create a cast of young men and women axxepting the challenge to become modern day djeli or griots (storytellers, historians, etc.). We are proven to provide quality edutainment (education and entertainment) by means of traditional African drumming, dance, culture and folklore. The goal is to display resonating tones to provide the listener with dynamic algorithmic sounds, while also providing the rich history of African people through means of words and music.

EDUCATION

Our Edutainment programs provide:

  • Cultural Enrichment for youth and community events

  • District & School Partnerships

HEALTH

Beyond the gratification we recieve from providing a great show. Our music and programs improves the health of our audience and clients.
